在辅音字母里面，字母Ｈ一般发摩擦音[h],或者不发音（voiceless）。字母Ｈ可以与其它辅音字母组合一起发音，Ｈ双字母组合有五个：ch、gh、 ph、 sh 、th，它们的读音分别归纳如下：
１.字母CH组合读[k]，例如：school [sku:l] ache [eɪk] stomach[ˈstʌmək] mechanics [məˈkænɪk] chemistry [ˈkemɪstri];
２.字母CH组合读[ʃ]，例如：machine [mə'ʃi:n] chef [ʃef]

二、ＧＨ组合１.字母ＧＨ组合读[f]，例如：laugh [lɑ:f] enough [ɪˈnʌf] cough [kɒf] tough[tʌf] rough[rʌf]
２.字母ＧＨ组合读不发音（voiceless）,例如：light [lait]fight [fait]high[hai] night[nait] eight[eit] weight[weit] neighbor['neɪbə] daughter[ˈdɔ:tə(r)] through[θru:] though[ðəʊ]

五、ＴＨ组合１.字母TH组合读浊音[ð]，例如：that [ðæt] this [ðis] father ['fɑ:ðə] these [ði:z] they [ðei] brother ['brʌðə] with [wið] other ['ʌðə]；
