一、down的常见用法

1.down 表示“(从高处)向下，往下”；例如：

• I ran down the hillside into a dark valley. 我顺着山坡向下跑进了一个黑暗的山谷。

• I took boxes that rolled down a metal track and piled them onto a truck. 我把从铁轨上滚下来的箱子堆放到了卡车上。

2.down 表示“沿着; 顺着; 朝着”；例如：

• This stone is a danger to anyone who comes down the street after dark. 这块石头对任何在天黑后沿着路行走的人来说都是危险的。

• As they make their way down the river, they have a number of exciting adventures. 他们在沿河而下的过程中经历了许多令人兴奋的冒险。

二、during的常见用法

1.during 表示“在……期间”；例如：

• Many animals have disappeared during the long history of the earth. 许多动物在地球漫长的历史中都消失了。

• During the Mid-Autumn Festival, family members often gather together. 中秋节期间，家人们经常会聚在一起。

2.during 表示“在……期间的某个时候”；例如：

• A boy was injured during the football match.一个男孩在足球比赛中受伤了。

• The solution was to plant trees so the animals could seek shelter during the daytime. 解决的办法是种树，这样动物们就可以在白天寻找栖身之处。
