本篇和我之前发的相呼应,是其中一个分支的详解。
状语从句是三种从句句型之一,其在总图中的位置如下
状语从句的特点从句用作状语时,起副词作用
修饰谓语、非谓语动词、定语、状语或整个句子
常用引导词:Although/though, as, while, even if/though, no matter 引导词 ever,whether...or
1.1 Although/ though
although和though能跟yet still,不能跟but
Although/though he is a child, he can speak three languages.
Although he was a child, he still managed to raise his family.
I don't believe we've met before, though, I must say you do look familiar.
1.2 As
Child as he is, he can speak 3 languages. 名词前置,不带冠词
Much as I like the house, I won't buy it as it is too expensive.
Smart as he is, he doesn't study hard. 形容词前置
Try hard as the Chinese football team will, they can hardly win. 虽然国足会尽力,但是他们基本不会赢。动词前置
1.3 While
While there is no conclusive evidence, he was sentenced to death. 虽然没有证据,他还是被判了死刑
While I always thought you will pass the exam, I never thought you would get a high score.
1.4 Even if/ though
We will make a trip to Shanghai even if the weather is bad. 从句表可能
He did not apologize even though he knew he was wrong. 从句是已发生的事实
1.5 no matter ever
no matter what/ whatever
Whatever he said, he was telling lies.
Wherever you go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you.
no matter how/ however
No matter how clever your are, you should know that cleverness is not everything.
However hard you try, it is difficult to lose weight without controlling the intake of food. 虽然你努力减肥,但是不控制饮食,还是不好降体重。
No matter who/ whoever
Now matter who it is, I don't want to see him.
But no matter who let the phone ring,there is no reason to be leaving you guessing. 歌词:无论谁打来的电话,没理由让你猜。
1.6 whether... or
whether you believe it or not, I believe it. 别管你信不信,我信了。
条件状语从句常用引导词:if, unless, as long as, on condition that
If you are not too tired, let's go out for a walk.
Let's go out for a walk unless you are too tired.
We can go out for a walk as long as you ar not too tired.
He lent me the money on condition that I pay it back in 2 days.
One's life has value as long as one brings value to the life of others. 只有为别人的生命带来价值,一个人的生命才有价值。

常用引导词:when, once, as before, while, till/until, hardly...when.../ no sooner...than..., 名词短语 the moment, every time等
1. When
Just as/when I found her, she started to run.
When you have finished your work, you may have a rest. ——表达相继发生
2. While
He went to school while I was cleaning the room.—— while必须跟有连续性的从句
3. Once
Once you love someone, it is hard to stop.
Once pollution is done, it takes many years for to recover. 污染一旦形成,治理需要多年。
4. As
As they sing, they dance. ——一边...一边
I love you more and more each day as time goes by. ——随着。虽然时光流逝,我更加爱你。
5. Before
Before Watson could say anything more, Holmes had rushed off towards the station. ——没来及。 华生还没来得及说更多之前,福尔摩斯已经冲向车站。
You have to pass the driving test before you can get a license.——才能。你需要通过考试才能拿到驾照。
Put that money in the bank before you spend it. ——趁着。趁着钱还没话,赶紧存了银行吧。
It will be a long time before Mobike and Ofo acquire each other . ——经过,需要很长时间,摩拜和Ofo才能吞并对方。
I hope, it won't be long before you find your Mr. Right. 祝你早日找到自己的白马王子。
6. Till/until
肯定句里用until,动词必须是延续性动词
I slept till/untill the next soon.
He didn't arrive until half past four.
Wait till I call you.
Don't stop until I say so.
Not until I was fired did I realize how academic diploma is not everything. Not until ——放句首时,主句倒装。直到被开除,我才意识到学历没啥用。
It was not until I was fired did I realize how much time I had wasted. ——it was 强调

As soon as I arrived at school, it began to rain.
hardly... when...前后事事件间隔短
I have hardly arrived at school when it began to rain.
I had hardly got to the office (when) my wife phoned me to go back home at once.
No sooner... than 做完前事马上做后事
I had no sooner arrived at school than it began to rain.
以上都能放句首做倒装
Hardly had I arrived at school when it began to rain.
No sooner had I arrived at school than it began to rain.
名词短语引导时间状语:the moment, every time, the minute, the second, the year, this time, next time
I was so nervous the first time I kissed a girl.
I met up with Li Lei every time I went to downtown.
I wept the minute I saw her. 看到她的那一刻,我哭了。
时态特点
用一般现在时表一般将来时
I will call you as soon as I finish my homework. 从句是将来发生的事,但是不加will
用现在完成时表将来完成时
I will say something when I have read this book.
常用引导词:as, as if,
as
Always do to the others as you would be done by.
Air is to us as water is to fish, and you are to me, 空气于人,相当于鱼于水,你于我。
You should learn English as I do.
as if/though
It looks as if it will rain very soon.
虚拟语气,从句时态比主句提前
She still chat with me as if nothing had happened.
They completely ignore these facts as if they never existed.

It was very cold outside, so that the kids are playing indoors.

The boy is so young that he cannot be a worker.
