Child as he is, he knows much about science.
Rich as he is , he is not happy.
Heavily as it was raining outside, they started out very early.
Angry as he was, he managed to speak calmly.
Tired as I was, I tried to help them.
Try as he would, he couldn’t open the door.
Search as they would, they would find nobody in the house.
Hard as (though) they tried, they couldn’t make her change her mind.
Boy as he was, he behaved like a girl.
as作“虽然…
一是若提前的表语是没有形容词修饰的单数可数名词,要省略不定冠词;
二是若提前的是动词原形(多为不及物动词),与之连用的通常是may, might, will, would等,且这些词都要保留在原来的位置上(即主语后);
Happy as they were, there was something missing.
Try as he might (= however hard he tried) , he couldn't open the door.
Object as/though you may, I’ll go.=Though/Although you may object, I’ll go.
Hard as/ though he works, he makes little progress. =Though he works hard, he makes little progress.
Young as/though he is, he knows a lot = Though he is young,he knows a lot.
Tired as he was, we decided not to disturb him.
Experienced as he is in contrast to his colleagues, he can deal with any difficult situation.
Unaccustomed as I am to public speaking, I beg your indulgence for my few inelegant works.
Small as atoms are, they are made up of still smaller units.
Fast as you read, you can’t finish the book so soon.
Rich as he is, he never spends a cent on clothes.
Much as I admire his courage, I don’t think he acted wisely.
Stupid as it sounds, Tom fell love with her at the first sight and believe everything she says.
Much as I admire him, I don’t want to follow his way.
Child as he is, he knows a lot.
Boy as he was, he was chosen king.
Lover of towns as I am, I realize that I owe a debt to my early country life.
Try as he may, he never succeeds.
Change your mind as you will, you will gain no additional support.
Try as he might, he could not solve that problem.
Raining hard as it was, Tom went out for a walk.
Surrounded as we were by the enemy, we were not afraid at all.
