中国矿业大学的前身为英国福公司1909年创办的焦作路矿学堂,后经历福中矿务大学、焦作工学院、中国矿业学院、北京矿业学院、四川矿业学院几个时期,1981年11月,经国务院批准,学校成为全国首批博士、硕士学位授予单位,1988年4月改名为中国矿业大学。

China University of Mining and Technology (China University of Mining and Technology), founded in 1909, is located in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is a national key University directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education. It is a University jointly built by the Ministry of Education, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Emergency Management. It is one of the first batch of universities to be awarded "Double First-class", "211 Project" and "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". The university has been selected as one of the "111 Program", "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", "Key Construction University", "State-sponsored Postgraduate Program of National Construction High-level University", "Host Institution of Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students", "National Innovative Experiment Program for College Students", "New Engineering Research and Practice Project". It is also a member of the High-quality Resource Sharing Alliance of Universities with High-level Industry Characteristics and the World Energy University Alliance. [1]
China University of Mining and Technology (CUT) was formerly known as Jiaozuo Road and Mining School founded by the British Fortune Company in 1909. Later, CUT experienced Fuzhong University of Mining and Management, Jiaozuo Institute of Technology, China Institute of Mining and Technology, Beijing Institute of Mining and Technology, and Sichuan Institute of Mining and Technology. In November 1981, with the approval of the State Council, CUT became one of the first batch of institutions granting doctor's and master's degrees in China. In April 1988, it was renamed China University of Mining and Technology.
